My Pew Pal — Privacy Policy

Effective September 4, 2026

My Pew Pal is a Bible app for young children: stories, small games, and a way to follow along with a church's Sunday message. It is built to work without collecting personal information from children or their grown-ups.

What the app collects

Nothing that identifies you or your child. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no names, no email addresses, no photos, no location, no contacts, and no advertising identifiers. The app does not use analytics or advertising software.

What stays on the device

Which stories have been opened and which games have been played is kept on the device itself so the app can pick up where a child left off. It is never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.

Church codes

If a grown-up enters a church code, the app looks that code up on our server to fetch the church's public name and its posted Sunday messages. The code and the church's public content are the only things exchanged. No personal information travels with that request.

Read Aloud

Stories can be read out loud using the speech voices built into the device. The text is spoken on the device; nothing is recorded and nothing is sent anywhere.

Service providers

Church names and messages are stored with Google Firebase, which serves that public content to the app. Firebase does not receive personal information from My Pew Pal, and we do not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or advertising services in this app.

Children

My Pew Pal is designed for children and follows the rules that protect them, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Because the app collects no personal information, no parental consent is needed to use it. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.

Website visit and download counts

Website counter information added: September 8, 2026.

On sermonsidekick.org, we count visits to public app-information pages and clicks on app testing and download links. These are aggregate totals grouped by day, app, destination, and a small set of campaign labels (for example, our Facebook introduction). They are not confirmed installs or unique visitor counts.

This counter uses no cookies, advertising pixel, visitor ID or browser storage. It does not record names, email addresses, IP addresses, account IDs, complete URLs, personal notes or Bible-reading activity in its database. Hosting providers still process normal network requests under their own service policies. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable this counter. Counts are stored with our website hosting service; they are not sent to Meta or used for personalized advertising.
